About:
Students in Mineola are proving that you’re never too young to make a meaningful difference.
The Joy Club, made up of 3rd and 4th grade students, partnered with the Mineola High School Service Center to support a cause close to their community—raising funds for the Mary Brennan INN. Through their school-wide “Making Change” fundraiser, these young leaders inspired their peers and came together to give back in a big way.
Young Leaders, Big Impact
With creativity and enthusiasm, Joy Club members helped organize and lead the initiative, encouraging fellow students and staff to contribute spare change for a meaningful cause. Their efforts resulted in over $700 raised, demonstrating the power of teamwork and compassion at any age.
Building a Culture of Service
This collaboration between elementary students and the high school service center highlights the strength of a unified school community. By working together, students across grade levels are building a culture rooted in empathy, leadership, and service.
Making a Difference Together
The funds raised will help support the important work of the Mary Brennan INN, providing assistance to individuals and families in need. More importantly, this experience has left a lasting impact on the students involved—showing them that even small actions can lead to big change.
Mineola continues to shine as a community where students lead with heart, proving that giving back is something everyone can be part of.
