They helped for 1.5 hours each.
The elementary school holds an annual cross country race near Halloween to help raise awareness of building healthy habits like running to combat childhood obesity. The cross country team runs with each class and encourages the kids to finish the 1/2 mile course. They also cheer the kids on as they are running. Once their class finishes the athletes go back to the start to help with another class. Over 600 students (the entire school) participate. The athletes also help take down the course and other equipment after the Monster Dash is complete.
The PE teachers and Principal asked our XC team to help. They’ve helped every year.
Overall the team conducted 199.5 hours of community service this fall season.
