About:
The Molloy Men’s Lacrosse team continued one of its most beloved annual traditions this holiday season—partnering with the South Hempstead Fire Department to help deliver Christmas trees to local families.
This year, the team joined firefighters in distributing 850 Christmas trees, lending their strength, teamwork, and enthusiasm to a community project that brings joy to households across the area. For the players, this service event is more than just lending a hand—it’s an opportunity to connect with the community that supports them and to kick off the holiday season with purpose.
Working alongside volunteers, the Lions helped unload, organize, and deliver trees, ensuring families received their holiday centerpiece with ease. This project has become a yearly favorite among the team, offering student-athletes a meaningful way to give back through teamwork and service.
In addition to this tradition, the team also participates in Molloy’s annual Sponsor-A-Family event, run by the athletic department—a service initiative the players look forward to each year as they help provide gifts and essentials for families in need.
Together, these experiences reflect the heart of Molloy Athletics: leadership, compassion, and community impact that extend far beyond the playing field.
A big thank-you to the South Hempstead Fire Department for hosting this wonderful initiative—and to the Lions for their continued commitment to spreading holiday cheer and supporting local families during this special season!
