About:
The NCAA announced that Division II set a fundraising record for the amount raised for Make-A-Wish during the 2015-16 academic year. In their list of the institutions that raised the most money, Molloy College was placed 12th after having raised $7,136.50.
The East Coast Conference is one of five Division II institutions that had 100 percent participation by its members, and Molloy’s total accounts for nearly 50% of the conference’s total. Across the nation, Division II raised $608,000 that will be used to grant wishes across the country for children facing life-threatening illnesses.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for Division II established a partnership with Make-A-Wish in 2003, and since then, over $4.7 million has been raised.
“Each year, Molloy College student-athletes strive to make a difference in the lives of local children living with life-threatening illnesses, and I am continually impressed by their efforts on behalf of Make-A-Wish,” remarked Assistant Director of Athletics and SAAC Coordinator Brianna Falese. “Whether they are selling apparel or paper stars, or competing in a Trivia Night, the enthusiasm that our student-athletes show for this cause truly embodies the mission of Molloy College.”
