The Moorhead Spuds Girls Hockey showed that their impact goes far beyond the ice this holiday season by volunteering at the Salvation Army Toy Shop in Fargo.
Student-athletes spent time helping prepare the Toy Shop to ensure families in the community could enjoy a special and dignified holiday shopping experience. Their efforts helped create a welcoming environment while supporting families during an especially meaningful time of year.
By stepping into a hands-on service role, the team reinforced values of compassion, teamwork, and leadership. The experience reminded players that giving back is an important part of being a student-athlete and a member of the community.
Moorhead Spuds Girls Hockey continues to exemplify what it means to use athletics as a platform for service, proving that the true measure of a team is found not only in competition, but in the difference they make off the ice.
