About:
New Hyde Park Memorial High School proudly represented the Sewanhaka Central High School District at a recent Special Olympics New York event held at Berner Middle School in Massapequa.
Eight students from New Hyde Park Memorial competed in two events each, showcasing determination, sportsmanship, and school pride throughout the day. The athletes gave their best effort, enjoyed the experience, and created lasting memories while also bringing home medals to celebrate their accomplishments.
The event highlighted the power of inclusive athletics and the importance of providing opportunities for all students to compete, connect, and succeed. Support from coaches, staff members, district leadership, and families helped make the day even more meaningful for the student-athletes involved.
A special thank you was extended to the Sewanhaka Central High School District Special Education Department, the dedicated coaching staff, and district leaders who came out to cheer on and support the athletes.
