About:
“This past Friday, January 5th, Nipmuc Regional High School kicked off its winter Mental Health Dedication series with Nipmuc varsity boys basketball. The game was super energetic! The student section theme was “wear green.” Students and other audience members were encouraged to wear green to support Mental Health awareness. Awareness bracelets were sold, and free green bandanas were given out upon entry. During the 3rd quarter, a video for WCVB was filmed for their “Good Morning Eye Opener” segment. This was a great way to spread awareness in my community and the greater Boston area. During the game, I received a lot of positive feedback from attendees that this is such a great cause and certainly an important one for adolescents to tackle.
In the last year, along with the Suicide Prevention 5k held in the spring, $8,000 has been raised. My goal by the end of the 2023-2024 school year is to reach $10,000. Throughout this experience, I could not be happier with the chapter’s success. I have learned so much about being a better leader and speaker. With this, I landed an internship with The KyleCares Foundation. I cannot wait to continue this journey.”
