About:
The North Middlesex Track Team recently showcased their dedication to both teamwork and community service in a unique way—by helping prepare the high school garden for the upcoming planting season. On March 28th, the entire Track and Field team, consisting of about 60 athletes, took a break from their usual training to roll up their sleeves and lend a hand.
The athletes worked together to move approximately 10 yards of dirt, filling the garden’s planter boxes in preparation for the season ahead. Despite not finishing before the end of practice, around 15 determined athletes stayed behind to complete the job, ensuring that the garden was ready to thrive.
This hands-on project highlights how student-athletes can make a lasting impact beyond the track, fostering school pride, environmental responsibility, and a strong sense of giving back to the community. The team’s efforts allowed the community garden club to stay on schedule for the planting season, something they wouldn’t have been able to do without the track team’s hard work.
The North Middlesex Track Team continues to demonstrate that their dedication goes far beyond athletics—they are committed to supporting and enriching their community in every way they can.
