About:
Students at Centre Avenue and Rhame Avenue schools joined more than 2,000 schools nationwide to celebrate National No One Eats Alone Day on Feb. 9.
During this student-led lunchtime event, students spoke to their classmates about the importance of inclusion and how they can make a difference in their school. They also organized and facilitated activities, including a pledge to include others each and every day. In addition, they encouraged schoolmates to sit with someone new. The K-Kids Club and student council members teamed up along with student council teacher leaders and school social workers to facilitate this event.
This initiative was sponsored by Beyond Differences, an organization dedicated to helping teens and schools make social inclusion the new reality.
