About:
The color pink filled the hallways at Valley Stream’s North High School as students and teachers recently wore pink to honor Pink Shirt Day.
The school’s S.T.O.P. Club was inspired by the story of two ninth grade students from Nova Scotia, Davide Shepherd and Travis Price. When a new student at their school was bullied for wearing a pink shirt, Shepherd and Price stepped up, distributed pink shirts to their classmates and encouraged them to wear them in protest against bullying.
S.T.O.P. encouraged students, faculty and staff to join this global movement by wearing pink and send the message that North supports kindness, respect and integrity.
