About:
North Rockland High School’s Varsity Girls Basketball team recently partnered with the school’s Morgan’s Message Club to host a meaningful Mental Health Awareness Game against Brewster, bringing the community together to support an important cause.
The special event was student-led, with club members Acadia and Dakota Scanlon playing key roles in organizing and promoting the initiative. Their leadership helped create an atmosphere focused on education, support, and open conversation surrounding student-athlete mental health.
Through collaboration between athletics and student organizations, the game served as a powerful platform to spread awareness and encourage peers to prioritize mental wellness. Events like this help break the stigma often associated with mental health challenges while reinforcing the message that no one has to struggle alone.
The North Rockland community’s support demonstrated the impact that sports can have beyond competition. By using their voices and visibility, the Red Raiders continue to foster a culture of compassion, understanding, and strength — both on and off the court.
