About:
Over the past two weeks, Harborfields Athletics teams have come together in an inspiring show of unity and compassion, using their games to raise awareness and support meaningful causes in the fight against cancer.
The efforts began the previous week when the Girls Volleyball team hosted its annual Dig Pink Game, benefiting the Islip Breast Cancer Coalition. The event brought students, families, and fans together to celebrate strength, hope, and community while raising funds for those affected by breast cancer.
This week, the Oldfield Middle School Field Hockey team continued the momentum with its annual Pink Game, supporting Ribbons Rising, a local nonprofit that provides financial and emotional support to families impacted by cancer. Fans packed the turf in pink, showing that together, we rise.
The JV Girls Soccer team also played their Kicks for Cancer Game, organizing a bake sale and raffle to benefit Corey’s Promise, which helps families battling pediatric cancer. Their incredible efforts were matched by a 1–0 win on the field.
Rounding out the week, the Oldfield Middle School 7th Grade Girls Soccer team hosted their own Kicks for Cancer Game, earning a 3–0 victory while spreading awareness and support for the cause.
From volleyball to field hockey to soccer, Harborfields student-athletes continue to show what it means to play with heart, proving that when the community comes together as one, every game becomes an opportunity to make a difference.
