About:
The Orchard Park Varsity Softball team recently traded their game day uniforms for volunteer gear and made a powerful impact at The Buffalo Autism Project Easter Bunny event! Stepping off the field and into the community, the team generously offered their time to bring joy and smiles to children and families.
The team helped create a fun and welcoming environment for families, offering support with activities and engaging in meaningful interactions. Their participation made the event extra special for the kids, while also highlighting the values of inclusion, kindness, and community service.
The event featured a unique, sensory-friendly experience for families, where children could avoid long lines to meet the Easter Bunny. Instead, they enjoyed snacks, sensory bins, Easter crafts, reading books, and more. From 10:15 AM to 2:15 PM, the Orchard Park Varsity Softball team spent time interacting with kids and families, ensuring everyone had a memorable, fun, and comfortable experience while they waited to meet the Easter Bunny.
Their efforts truly demonstrated the power of community support and the impact that student-athletes can have outside of the field.
