About:
Oquenock Elementary School fourth-graders used the message of positivity and acceptance behind P.S. I Love You Day to create special character flags. Each student wrote a brief message – ranging from “thank you for always helping me with my math” to “thanks for playing with me at recess when no one else would” – on a heart for the members of their class. These messages were then glued to strips to create a wonderful keepsake for each child.
“We hope that the students will realize their own self worth through the kind words of others” said teacher Kelly Parson. “This activity really got the students thinking about others, and the happiness they all showed when their own character flag was complete was priceless.”
