About:
Our Athletic Leadership Council, made up of student-athletes nominated by coaches, discussed these topics during their meetings and ideas on how to share it with others in the district. It falls in line with our long range plan of creating a culture of care in our community. They came up with the idea of going to our kindergarten/1st grade school and reading books to the students on these topics. They were bused over from the high school and spent the day there.
There are roughly 40 students. They meet once to twice a month during the school day for one period. We plan on doing this event again at our other elementary school.
