About:

The team had a zoom meeting with Joan Curry, the administrative director, pediatric clinical services at MD Anderson Cancer Center. They learned a lot about Pediatric Cancer and Sickle Cell Disease. They learned about different ways to donate and options and chose the places our donations would go. They went to local businesses and connections to gather raffle prize items and we are selling those at the game along with a concession stand. They made awareness posters with facts and information. We also teamed up with Go4theGoal. We will be wearing yellow shoelaces.

——-

we raised $2,300 at our Pediatric Cancer/Sickle Cell Awareness game and we were able to donate to 3 charities.  They dedicated their game to the memory of the classmate Dream Shepherd who lost her fight to sickle cell that eventually developed into cancer.  The girls donated to two charities they chose and one chosen by Dream’s mom.
