About:
This Giving Tuesday, the Oyster Bay community is rallying together both on and off the court. As the Tom Robinson Tournament tips off, the Oyster Bay Booster Club is encouraging fans, families, and students to bring a toy to tonight’s basketball game in support of the local charity People Loving People NY.
The boys open the tournament against Lawrence, followed by the Lady Baymen taking on Friends Academy in tomorrow’s first round of the girls’ bracket. With consolation games on Thursday and championship matchups on Friday, it’s four full days of excitement, teamwork, and community spirit to start the holiday season.
But what truly makes this week special is the purpose behind it. By adding a toy donation element to the tournament, the Oyster Bay Booster Club and basketball programs are using the power of sport to bring joy to children and families in need. Every toy donated helps brighten the holidays for a local child and strengthens the culture of giving that defines the Oyster Bay community.
A big thank you to everyone participating—whether by competing, cheering, or contributing a toy. This is what the holiday season is all about: coming together, supporting one another, and spreading kindness.
Let’s make this Giving Tuesday one to remember!
