About:
In a remarkable show of unity, Mahopac and North Rockland Softball teams joined forces, bringing together 30 student athletes for a cause close to their hearts. Each athlete contributed by selling March Madness boxes, raising an impressive $1,000 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, an organization dedicated to breast cancer research and support.
This cause holds special significance for the teams, as one of Mahopac’s juniors has a mother, Mrs. Biagini, who has been bravely battling breast cancer. Mrs. Biagini, an elementary school teacher in the district, has touched many lives. She honored the event by throwing out the first pitch, showcasing her courage and resilience.
Typically rivals on the field, Mahopac and North Rockland demonstrated the power of sports to unite communities for a greater good. The special Breast Cancer Awareness Game highlighted that beyond competition, sports embody camaraderie and a shared commitment to positive change.
We are immensely proud of our athletes for their dedication and generosity. Their efforts not only raised funds but also heightened awareness about the importance of early detection and the fight against breast cancer. Thank you to everyone who supported this cause.
Together, Mahopac and North Rockland Softball have shown that in the fight against cancer, we are all on the same team. Here’s to many more collaborative efforts in the future, both on and off the field!
