About:
The Palmyra-Macedon High School boys lacrosse team is using the power of athletics to make a meaningful impact in the fight against cancer through its participation in the “Stick It To Cancer Nationwide 2026” campaign benefiting the American Cancer Society.
On May 5th, the Cougars took the field for a special game dedicated to raising awareness and funds for cancer research, patient support, and advocacy efforts. More than just a lacrosse game, the event served as an opportunity for the school and community to come together in support of survivors, caregivers, and families impacted by cancer.
The team emphasized that cancer has touched everyone in some way, making the event deeply personal for many players, families, and supporters involved.
Through donations, awareness efforts, and community support, Palmyra Boys Lacrosse has already raised more than $315 toward its fundraising goal, showing how student-athletes can use sports as a platform for service and compassion.
The Cougars encouraged the community to rally behind the cause by donating, spreading awareness, and cheering on the team as they turned the game into something much bigger than the scoreboard.
Initiatives like this continue to highlight the positive impact student-athletes can make beyond competition — bringing communities together while supporting important causes and helping others through teamwork, leadership, and service.
