About:
The Patchogue-Medford Varsity Field Hockey program is using its season to make an impact beyond the field through two meaningful initiatives: its Hometown Heroes Appreciation Game and Stick It to Cancer Game.
The team’s Hometown Heroes Appreciation Game was created to recognize the brave, dedicated, and selfless individuals who serve and strengthen the community every day. The event honors military members, firefighters, EMTs and EMS personnel, doctors and healthcare workers, teachers, law enforcement officers, and other community heroes.
Through the game, the Raiders are celebrating the values of service, sacrifice, commitment, respect, and gratitude, while giving student-athletes an opportunity to recognize the people who make a difference in their lives and throughout the community.
The program is also continuing its commitment to giving back through its Stick It to Cancer Game, bringing players, families, and supporters together to raise awareness and support those impacted by cancer.
Together, the two events reflect the important role athletics can play in building stronger communities. Whether honoring those who serve others or supporting families affected by cancer, Patchogue-Medford Field Hockey is showing that the impact of a team can extend far beyond the scoreboard.
By using their platform to recognize, support, and give back, the Raiders are creating meaningful experiences for their student-athletes while reminding the community that some of the most important victories happen off the field.
