About:
The Patchogue-Medford Girls Basketball program recently brought together student-athletes, youth players, educators, and community supporters for its annual Coaches vs. Cancer Play for a Cure / Nuzzi Strong Game, creating a powerful evening centered on awareness, unity, and service.
Held in partnership with Brentwood Girls Basketball, elementary physical education teachers, Patchogue-Medford Athletics, the PM pep band, and the Raider Girls Basketball Booster Club, the event highlighted the strength of community collaboration in support of those affected by cancer.
The night also featured an Elementary Girls Basketball Shoot-Out, giving younger athletes the opportunity to support a meaningful cause while connecting with varsity and junior varsity players. From the youngest participants to the high school student-athletes, the program stood together to support something bigger than the game.
In addition to raising awareness, the varsity and JV teams celebrated strong performances on the court, earning key victories that added to the excitement and energy of the evening.
Through initiatives like Play for a Cure / Nuzzi Strong Night, Patchogue-Medford student-athletes demonstrated leadership, compassion, and a commitment to making a positive impact. Events that combine competition with community purpose continue to strengthen bonds across grade levels while inspiring future generations of athletes to lead through service.
