About:
The Patchogue-Medford High School softball program is stepping up to make a difference with its “Strike Out Cancer” Community Donation Drive, combining the power of athletics with compassion and community support.
During their matchup against Sachem East High School, the Pat-Med softball team will collect donations to support individuals currently undergoing cancer treatment. The initiative encourages community members to come together and donate items that can provide comfort, hope, and encouragement to those facing difficult battles.
The team is collecting new blankets, hats, socks, and items for small care packages, with all donations benefiting the New York Cancer Foundation and CancerCare.
Events like this highlight the positive impact student-athletes can have beyond the field by using sports as a platform to support important causes and uplift members of their community. Through teamwork, service, and empathy, the Pat-Med softball program is helping show that together, we can truly make an impact.
