About:
Paumanok Elementary came together to celebrate Autism Awareness Month through a series of schoolwide activities designed to honor and embrace neurodiversity. Students participated in themed Spirit Week events, engaging in meaningful conversations about how everyone’s brain is unique and valuable.
In addition to the week’s events, the Student Council led a special fundraiser that invited all students to decorate rocks for the school’s “Making a Difference” courtyard. These colorful, personalized rocks now serve as a lasting symbol of inclusivity, kindness, and the power of student-led initiatives.
Paumanok’s celebration was a powerful reminder that when we recognize and respect each other’s differences, we truly make a difference.
