About:
At Half Hollow Hills, kindness continues to shine through student-led service. This week, Paumanok Elementary School students put their creativity and compassion to work by designing more than 200 handmade Thanksgiving placemats for seniors at Gerwin Nursing Home.
Each placemat was crafted with care, filled with warm colors, cheerful messages, and thoughtful artwork to help brighten the holiday meal for residents. This meaningful act of service learning not only brought joy to the seniors who will use them, but also taught students the power of empathy, giving back, and spreading positivity within their community.
Paumanok proudly sends warm wishes for a happy and joyful Thanksgiving to all—and celebrates the students whose kindness made this project so special.
