On Wednesday, September 11th, the West Genesee volleyball team hosted a Dig Pink event, and it was an incredible success! The event, which supports the Dig Pink organization—a national group dedicated to funding breast cancer research through volleyball—brought the community together for a great cause.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, they raised $1,233 in total. They had 12 beautiful gift baskets that raised $937 through ticket sales, while an additional $296 was donated directly online to the Dig Pink organization. The funds will go toward advancing breast cancer research, making a real impact in the fight against this disease.
During the event, they had the privilege of honoring nine family members from both teams who are currently fighting breast cancer. It was a special moment to recognize their strength and resilience. Both teams wore pink uniforms in solidarity, and the gym was beautifully decorated in pink, creating a powerful atmosphere of support and unity.
A huge thank you goes out to the amazing parents from the team, who went above and beyond in organizing the event and donating the gift baskets. Their hard work and dedication made this event such a success, and they are so grateful for their support.
