Even the tiniest children can take a huge stand in the fight against childhood cancer.
At the Greenport Union Free School District,kindergarten students will display 43 gold pinwheels on the lawn outside, coming together to raise awareness about a disease that leaves no one untouched, even children in their own school.
The event is meant to mark the fact that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
