Event Type: Children & Youth

School: Pittsford-Mendon High School

Date: May 3, 2022

Location:
Pittsford Mendon High School
Mendon Road, Pittsford
NY

About:

34 athletes from the Sutherland and Mendon varsity baseball teams participated in the event. Besides playing in the games, the athletes promoted the event through social media which drove student attendance, but took less than an hour of their time. My son manages the Mendon Baseball account on Instagram and he spent 1-2 two hours putting together the graphics.

I am not sure how long this event has been going on, but it’s the first time in three years we’ve been able to hold it due to the pandemic. The Ronald McDonald House of Rochester (www.rmhcrochester.org) is located at 333 Westmoreland Drive and they provide a warm and peaceful “home-away-from-home” for families traveling to the Rochester area for their child’s medical care. To stay at the Westmoreland House a referral from a healthcare provider or social worker is required.

In addition to the $500 donation from the Mendon and Sutherland baseball programs, Pittsford Little League donated $500 as well. We also collected $1,464 at the gates. In total we raised $2,500 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
