About:
The Pittsford Mendon Viking Baseball team showcased their community spirit by volunteering at the Pirate Toy Fund Toy Giveaway, bringing holiday cheer to local families in need. Players, coaches, and families came together to assist in organizing and distributing toys, helping brighten the season for many children in the area.
The Pirate Toy Fund, dedicated to providing toys to families facing hardship, expressed their gratitude for the Viking Baseball team’s support. Their participation highlights their commitment to giving back and making a positive impact on the Rochester community.
This year marked the second time the team volunteered at the event, a tradition initiated by player parent Susan Levitan, who is close with the organizers. The event brought together around 25 players from all levels of the program, who spent the afternoon playing games, shopping, and coloring with the kids. Their goal was simple: to bring some holiday joy to families who might be facing tough times.
Head Coach Shaun Caveny reflected on the experience: “It’s a humbling opportunity for our players and me to be part of such a wonderful event. Volunteering alongside parents and supporting the Pirate Toy Fund is an incredibly meaningful way for our team to give back to the Rochester community. We look forward to this every year.”
A heartfelt thank you to the Pittsford Mendon Viking Baseball team for their time, generosity, and continued commitment to making the holidays brighter for those in need.
