About:
“Make A Difference. Be A Hero. Stay Drug Free.”
Students across the Plainedge School District came together to celebrate Red Ribbon Week, promoting healthy choices, kindness, and a positive school environment through a variety of creative spirit activities.
Spreading Awareness Through School Spirit
Throughout the week, Plainedge schools embraced the message of living drug-free while encouraging students to express themselves and celebrate their school community.
Several schools organized themed spirit days, including:
- “Every Hero Makes Healthy Choices” – Encouraging students to be everyday heroes by making positive decisions.
- “Adam Sandler Day” – Bringing fun and creativity into the school day.
- “Anything But a Backpack Day” – Inspiring students to think outside the box while building school spirit.
While the activities brought plenty of laughter and excitement, they also reinforced important messages about making responsible choices, creating safe spaces, and treating others with kindness and respect.
Student Leadership Makes a Difference
District-wide student clubs played an important role in coordinating activities and leading spirit weeks, helping bring the Red Ribbon Week message to life throughout the Plainedge community.
Their efforts demonstrated how student leadership can promote positive behaviors, strengthen school connections, and encourage students to support one another.
By combining education with engaging activities, Plainedge created opportunities for students to celebrate friendship, unity, and the importance of making healthy choices.
Building a Positive School Community
Plainedge’s Red Ribbon Week celebration serves as a reminder that making a difference often begins with everyday choices.
Through student leadership, creativity, and school-wide participation, the district reinforced its commitment to creating a welcoming environment where students feel safe, supported, and connected.
