About:
The Pleasantville High School girls lacrosse team recently spent a meaningful day volunteering at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Food Pantry, demonstrating the power of student-athletes making a difference beyond the field.
The players worked together to support local families in need while learning firsthand about the importance of community service and giving back. What began as a team volunteer opportunity quickly became an impactful experience that resonated deeply with both players and parents alike.
According to those involved, the athletes truly enjoyed the experience and embraced the opportunity to help others. The day left such a positive impression that several parents who participated are now planning to bring the school’s field hockey team to volunteer at the pantry this fall, helping extend the spirit of service to even more student-athletes.
Through teamwork, compassion, and community involvement, the Panthers continue to show that leadership is not only demonstrated during competition, but also through acts of kindness and service that positively impact others.
Their efforts are a great example of how athletics can inspire students to become active, engaged members of their communities while creating a culture centered around empathy, connection, and giving back.
