About:
The baseball program at POBJFKHS Hawks Baseball continues to demonstrate how athletics can be a powerful platform for community impact through multiple awareness initiatives this season.
As part of their annual Corey’s Promise game against St. Anthony’s, the Hawks helped raise awareness in the fight against pediatric cancer while honoring Corey’s story and supporting families impacted by childhood cancer. The meaningful tradition brings players, families, and fans together around a cause that extends far beyond the baseball field.
Earlier this season, the program also dedicated a non-league matchup against MacArthur to Autism Awareness, helping promote inclusion, understanding, and support for individuals and families within the autism community.
Through events focused on pediatric cancer awareness and autism advocacy, POB JFK Baseball continues to show leadership both on and off the field. Their commitment to using sports to inspire awareness, compassion, and community engagement highlights the lasting impact student-athletes can have when they play for something bigger than the game.
