About:
Many of my players knew the two Roslyn boys who were killed recently. We play Roslyn every year at the varsity tennis level and there is a lot of competitive nature between the two teams. After hearing about the tragedy in Roslyn, my players wanted to do something to show support for the Roslyn tennis team. We decided to create t-shirts that had meaning, and all proceeds from selling the shirts will be donated to help support the Roslyn families and community. The shirts are royal blue with black and white print and have a bulldog logo on the front to mimic the Roslyn colors and mascot. The words “Bulldogs” and “Hawks” are displayed to demonstrate the close bond that we share with the Roslyn tennis team. There is a heart printed on the back of the shirt in memory of Drew and Ethan. It helps to remind others to always spread love and kindness. To help honor our friends and spread awareness, we have worn these shirts at every match to close out the season. I couldn’t be prouder of my players this year. They have done an incredible job and I know they will never forget the work and emotions that went into this season. The actions taken by my players are truly inspiring, and it makes me have a little faith in humanity in spite of tragedies like this one.
