About:
It’s our yearly Coaches vs. Cancer campaign benefiting Stacy’s Warriors. This year’s campaign is entitled “BElieve THEre is HOPE” (note the double meaning). Below is the email that was sent to all staff explaining this year’s campaign…
The week of October 28 – November 1, 2019 is Coaches vs. Cancer Week at POBJFK. Our student coordinators, Nikki Mastorides, Dani Mintz and Amanda Ortsman have worked tirelessly with Stacy Brennan to coordinate the Believe There Is Hope Campaign that includes numerous activities to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research and awareness. All proceeds of their campaign will benefit Stacy’s Warriors, the non-profit that Ms. Brennan began in 2007 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
In order to kick-off the week, the coordinators are hoping that students and faculty will wear pink on Monday. If you don’t have pink, a pink ribbon will be available for you.
Tuesday morning we will host a pink bagel sale from 7-7:20am. Bagels with cream cheese or butter will be sold for $2 each. Bagel Boss has generously donated all the bagels.
On Wednesday the Plainview Diner will be hosting a fundraiser from 5-9pm in which 10% of your bill will be donated to Stacy’s Warriors, as long as you show the attached flyer.
And finally, all students and faculty are asked to wear their Coaches vs. Cancer shirt on Friday to coordinate with the Coaches vs. Cancer footbal l game against Syosset – kick-off is at 6pm!
