About:
The POBJFK Hawks Baseball team has made a strong impact both on the field and in the community this spring.
On April 27, Coach John Givargidze and several team members volunteered their Sunday morning to give back through community service locally.
Following their off-field efforts, the Hawks participated in two meaningful cause games. On May 3, they played a Non-League Autism Awareness Game against MacArthur High School, raising awareness for autism and promoting inclusion through sports.
Then, on May 10, the Hawks faced St. Anthony’s in the annual Corey’s Promise Game at Allen Park. This special event honors and supports the Corey’s Promise Foundation, which assists families affected by pediatric cancer. Fans were encouraged to learn more and support the cause at coreyspromise.org.
Now in its third year, the Corey’s Promise Game honors Corey Phelan. Coach Givy shares a close relationship with Corey’s father, and through this game, the team helps raise both funds and awareness for the foundation’s important mission.
