About:
Port Jefferson Middle School students raised more than $200 for Mather Hospital’s Fortunato Breast Health Center’s “Paint Port Pink” community outreach program.
The students raised the funds through in-school sales of pink Frisbees, pencils, boas and shoelaces. They also sold rocks to decorate during their lunch periods. To raise additional awareness about breast cancer, the students decorated classroom doors in pink.
