About:
The Port Jefferson Middle School National Junior Honor Society recently hosted a shoe drive for the Soles4Souls initiative. The ambitious project resulted in collecting more than 120 pairs of shoes for the organization that serves people around the world by helping to disrupt the cycle of poverty.
“Our students used community engagement to provide new opportunities for those in need while having a positive impact on the environment,” co-adviser and special education teacher Christina Marino said. “Their participation in the project is helping to nurture their future leadership skills.”
