About:
Freshmen Jordan Levine and Chase Kovar from Schreiber High School initially started WellPlayed to address two key community issues: increasing physical activity among kids and promoting recycling for environmental preservation. Last year, they collected, sanitized, and distributed 734 pieces of sports equipment to financially insecure families and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
This year, they have expanded WellPlayed to tackle a deeper issue: the mental health of boys. Recognizing that boys often have different mental health needs and may show signs of stress differently, they developed a new wellness program tailored for male high school students. The program includes meditation instructors Stacey Lynn and Sam Gerson, chair massage therapists, and mental focus training/leadership communication experts.
To fund the program, they are selling exclusive branded t-shirts for $30, with all proceeds going towards the initiative. They aim to expand this program to more communities. For more information or to order merchandise, contact wellplayed@gmail.com.
