About:
Basketball teams brought their school and community together for a powerful BTH game dedicated to suicide prevention and mental wellness—proving that athletics can be a meaningful platform for awareness, connection, and support.
The special game night focused on promoting open conversations around mental health while reminding students, families, and fans that no one has to face challenges alone. By centering the event on mental wellness, the programs used their visibility to reinforce the importance of compassion, understanding, and looking out for one another.
Student-athletes played a key role in helping bring the message to life, demonstrating leadership both on and off the court. The evening reflected the values of education-based athletics, showing how teams can use competition to unite people around causes that truly matter.
Through this BTH game, boys and girls basketball showed that success is measured not only by wins and losses, but by the positive impact student-athletes can have when they lead with purpose. By raising awareness for suicide prevention and mental wellness, the programs delivered a message that will resonate far beyond the final buzzer.
