About:
The Future Leaders Club at Pulaski Road Elementary School had the unique opportunity to learn about the American flag and its significance during a special visit from Officer Jinks of the Suffolk County Police Department. His engaging presentation left students with a deeper understanding of the flag’s history, meaning, and the importance of showing it respect.
Officer Jinks shared key historical milestones and heartfelt stories, fostering a sense of pride and unity among the students. To bring the lesson to life, he taught the proper way to fold the flag, a hands-on activity that captured the students’ enthusiasm.
The learning continued outside as Officer Jinks demonstrated the respectful process of raising and lowering the flag on the school’s flagpole. This practical experience not only instilled a sense of pride and responsibility but also prepared the Future Leaders to take on their new role of caring for the flag each day.
Now equipped with this meaningful knowledge, the Future Leaders Club will guide the school community in the Pledge of Allegiance, embracing a tradition that connects them to the values and unity the flag represents.
A heartfelt thank you to Officer Jinks for this inspiring visit and to the Pulaski Road Elementary Future Leaders for their commitment to honoring our nation. Together, they’ve demonstrated what it truly means to lead with respect and pride.
