About:
The Queensbury Spartans proudly hosted their annual Power of Pink Volleyball Tournament, once again bringing together athletes, coaches, families, and the community in the fight against cancer.
The success of this year’s tournament was made possible through the collective efforts of everyone involved — from those who helped organize and fundraise to the fans who came out to support. Their dedication ensures that the Power of Pink tradition continues to thrive year after year.
In partnership with the Side-Out Foundation and several local schools, Queensbury raised thousands of dollars for cancer research through this year’s activities. Beyond the competition on the court, the day served as a powerful reminder of the difference student-athletes can make when they unite for a cause greater than themselves.
Queensbury’s commitment to raising awareness extended beyond volleyball, as the girls soccer team also sported pinkthroughout the month to show their support for the cause.
“We’ve been doing this for a number of years, and the participating teams raise all the funds reflected in the total amount. Our girls take the lead by hosting concessions, selling shirts, and organizing basket raffles — all coordinated through our booster club.”
— Richard Keys, Director of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics
