About:
Nick Mazzie, senior, kicker organized the fund raiser and my goal is to reach 40 points through field goals and PAT’s. Obviously it wouldn’t be possible without the help of my teammates. Both the defense and offense is what allows me to get out there and score points. So to answer your question it is revolves around my kicking points but none of it would be possible without all of my teammates. My season started on the 12th of March and ends the 23rd of April. I don’t really know the exact amount of hours I will be spending on the fundraiser but it is going to be an ongoing effort until the season is over. So this fundraiser raises money for pediatric cancer research. Every dollar donated goes towards research and last year we raised over $1,000! It is important to me because I take pride in helping out others. At Central Catholic our motto is to serve the least favored and I am just trying to do my part. It’s awesome do be able to play the sport I love and raise money at the same time. It puts a little twist on it, rather than just a normal fundraiser. My hope is that one day we can find a cure to cancer and make the world a better place one step at a time. I promoted awareness through social media such as Twitter. Also, through friends and family. The Boston herald wrote a small article on it which also helped spread awareness.
