About:

The student council at East Islip’s Ruth C. Kinney Elementary School held a festive Holiday Trot in December, organized by Brittany Hayes, the council’s new adviser. More than 50 participating students brought in nonperishable food items which were delivered to Long Island Harvest.

“These students came to school early on a cold December morning to have some outdoor fun while helping families in need,” said Principal Janet Jones. “The families of RCK are so wonderful. We were able to fill a large SUV with all of the food items that were donated.”
