In order to live up to their name, the Super Hero Club at Harborfields High School holds an annual fundraiser to benefit a specific cause in the surrounding community. This year, on Feb. 13 at 2:45 p.m., the club will be conducting a dodgeball tournament to benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The cost is $40 per team, and each team requires eight members.
Students involved in the Superhero Clun come together on a bi-monthly basis to discuss all things related to superhero culture, but many commented on enjoying the club for more than just the surface level.
“It’s one thing to just love superheroes and the culture surrounding the comics,” said student Angie Budhram, “but it’s another thing to step up and be the kind of hero that changes the world around them. Helping the community, even in the smallest ways, can create such an impact…and that’s what we seek to do each year with this fundraiser.”
