Riverhead Volleyball Team to Cook for Homebound Veterans This Season

This season, the Riverhead Girls Volleyball team is taking a meaningful step to give back to the community by preparing meals for homebound veterans. The team of 12 players is partnering with Rina from Cooking for Long Island Homebound Veterans, an organization that provides meals to veterans who are unable to leave their homes.

The players will volunteer for 3-4 hours, working together to prepare, cook, and package meals for these deserving individuals. Rina, who attended the team’s game, showed her appreciation by gifting the players with towels, recognizing their dedication to both their sport and community service.

In addition to this initiative, the team also had the privilege of honoring local heroes, including community helpers and veterans, at their home game on 9/11. With hearts full of compassion and a commitment to giving back, the Riverhead Volleyball team is proud to support those who have served our country.

This collaboration not only highlights the team’s athleticism but also their dedication to making a positive impact off the court. We are excited to see the difference they’ll make throughout the season! 🇺🇸
