Continuing what has become a Rocky Point tradition, members of the Rocky Point School District baseball teams recently volunteered at Maureen’s Haven Homeless Shelter.
Lead by team coaches Andrew Aschettino, Anthony Anzalone and Eric Strovink, the middle school and high school students worked together to set up the location, stock the pantries, provide breakfast, lunch, dinner, supply toiletries, homemade baked goods, backpacks and even gift cards for meals to a fast food restaurants for future dates. Additionally, the students donated enough socks to give a new pair to each homeless person for weeks to come.
