About:
The Rocky Point High School varsity softball team recently hosted a powerful fundraiser game in support of pancreatic cancer awareness and research. The event was held to honor all those affected by cancer and brought together the school and local community in a meaningful show of support.
During the event, the team proudly presented a $2,500 check to the Lustgarten Foundation, one of the nation’s leading organizations dedicated to advancing pancreatic cancer research. The fundraiser was a resounding success thanks to the generosity and involvement of the Rocky Point community.
Adding to the significance of the day, Suffolk County Sheriff Errol D. Toulon Jr.—a pancreatic cancer survivor himself—attended the game and threw out the ceremonial first pitch. His presence served as an inspiring reminder of the importance of early detection, ongoing research, and community support.
The varsity softball team extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the event and helped make a difference in the fight against pancreatic cancer.
