About:
The Rondout Valley High School girls lacrosse team proved that success isn’t just measured on the scoreboard—it’s also defined by impact.
In a powerful display of purpose and teamwork, the Rondout girls lacrosse program hosted an “Attack Cancer” fundraiser, raising over $2,000 to support cancer-related causes. The initiative brought the community together around a meaningful mission, showcasing how student-athletes can rally support for something bigger than themselves.
The day was even more memorable as the team achieved a historic milestone on the field—earning their first-ever league championship with a dominant 16–3 victory over Beacon High School. This achievement marks a defining moment in the program’s history and reflects the dedication, hard work, and unity of the players and coaching staff.
Adding to the celebration, the team recognized special moments off the field as well, celebrating a 16th birthday for Stella Greco and a belated 18th birthday for Grace McArdle—making it a truly unforgettable day for the Lady Ganders.
Through leadership, compassion, and commitment, the Rondout Valley girls lacrosse team embodied what it means to play for something bigger—demonstrating the lasting impact of student-athletes both in competition and in their communities.
