About:
This Drive was led by our Social Worker in our District JoLynn Feagin for our Roy-Hart Community who are in need of Help this Thanksgiving Season.
JoLynn stopped at our recent Student Athlete Advisory Committee Meeting (8 RH student-athletes 9th-12th) and talked about being “grateful” –grateful for their leadership, responsibility, accountability, athletic talents, and how to lead a positive change to help someone in the community.
From her short 15 minute discussion with our RH Student Athletes, this sparked our 8 athletes to Pack A Box for Family in our Community who could benefit and enjoy a Thanksgiving Meal with their family.
Items included – Thanksgiving Plates, Cups and Napkins, over 30 canned food items, desserts, paper products, etc.
Our Challenge was to Pack The Box in 5 Days–our athletes asked teachers, coaches, and used their own money to shop together for these items.
These 8 athletes from RH are my true leaders in my Athletics program, Sr. Brayden Hy (DI commitment to Canisius University for Baseball) was a TRUE LEADER in this Challenge!
Our district collected over 500 canned food items in a 10 day span.
For January 2024, we are leading a STAY WARM DRIVE —donation of gently used Jackets, Hats, Gloves, for our Royalton-Middleport-Gasport Families in Need.
At our HOME BASKETBALL and SWIM MEETS in December that they will collect at the Doors. Area schools that we play against Help out as well as parents and athletes bring those with them to our HOME Games in the month of December.
