About:
Sag Harbor’s Pierson High School Interact Club offered water and cheers to the participants in Katy’s Courage 5K race on April 13. The nonprofit organization was founded in 2012 in honor of Katy Stewart, who passed away at age 12 from pediatric liver cancer. Katy’s Courage raises money to fund local school scholarships, pediatric cancer research and Katy’s Kids@CMEE.
The Interact Club participates in numerous community service activities. Members who assisted at the race include Dimitris Barranco, Pierce Summers, Richard Barranco, Harry Cowen, Henry Brooks, David Pedersen, Max Mensch, Cecilia Barranco, Maria Torres-Vasquez, Carly Gulotta, Wendy Reinoso-Bautista, Joselin Aucapina, Gabriella Knab and Hannah Tum.
