On Tuesday, Sept. 21, Sachem High School North held a heartwarming ceremony where the gymnasium court was dedicated to past Sachem teacher Matthew “Dezy” DiStefano who tragically passed away from cancer in January of 2020.

The emotional ceremony celebrated the incredible life of Dezy and the everlasting mark he left on the Sachem community through his time as an athlete, teacher, coach and overall inspiration, sharing his message of positivity and hope through his mantra, “We Get To.”
